My ESO journey so far
I loved Skyrim and would play it until my eyes would bleed. I was really looking forward to the next game. I had to save up to get a newer console and buy the game and in April of 2015 I was ready to go!
I started out not knowing anything about MMMO’s or the game itself. I created a Breton Dragon Knight then plunged in running around like a chicken with my head cut of, it was overwhelming, but I was having tons of fun. For the longest time I did not pay attention to my build and or my toons passives. I just wore heavy armor I had picked up from chests or mob’s and just spread my attributes evenly like I did in Skyrim. It was tough going but I did not know any better. I assume many players will chat online and get advice but I am a loner by nature and solo everything so I do not chat online about getting help.
It was not easy but I worked my way through Caldwell’s Silver and ESO Gold and came out around level V10. I wanted to get to V14 so I visited Cyrodiil for the first time thinking I could level there. I ventured out and got my head handed to me a lot. I keep dying and did not even stand a chance. I wanted to at least be a contender so I got on the internet and was surprised at how much I did not know about this game. I had a lot of catching up to do. In particular this forum is a tremendous help and I want to thank everyone for their time and efforts to make this a more enjoyable game.
Luckily I had been leveling my blacksmith, wood working and clothing so I had at least 6 traits to work with. I played with both stam and magika builds all the way to V16 but soon discover my Breton Dragon Knight was not such a great mix. I wanted to do another Dragon Knight so I rolled a Nord Dragon Knight stam build up to V16. Maybe not such a great choice either. I sill was not overly impressed and felt I had to start over again. I was easy to complete PVE content but PVP not so much. I need something different.
I wanted to experience a Night Blade and had read good things about them online so I rolled a Khajiit stam build up to V4. By this time I had a much better understanding of the game and builds in general and was having a lot of fun leveling. However I slowly lost interest in this toon and did not feel like going the distance with her. Maybe later I will try again.
I got back on the forums and did some more research and decided to roll a High Elf Sorcerer to V16 and had the most fun and easiest time completing content. It was almost too easy….. I like this toon and the play style. It is my second favorite to date.
Most recently I rolled a High Elf Templar magika up to V2. What fun! It has been over a year but I feel I may have found my favorite toon. I still have a lot to learn about her but that is half the fun!
It has been a long road getting to where I feel that I understand parts of this game and have a toon I connect with. I’d like to hear your stories and how long it may have taken you to “get it right” so to speak.

Elder Scrolls Online: the Followers and the Marriage System Are Wonderful
Some of the npcs you meet in ESO you grow an attachment to, and I wish I could take them into battle similar to how SWTOR does that system.
Better Beginner Build: Stam Sorc vs Stam/Mag DK
My favorite race in the TES series is definitely the Orcs, so I think my first build will definitely be an Orc, and obviously that leans more towards a melee fighter anyway. As I've been researching builds, I've essentially narrowed it down to either a Stam Sorc or a DK.
The Thieves Guild is coming to The Elder Scrolls Online
The Thieves Guild of Abah's Landing is being pursued by the Iron Wheel, a mercenary unit that's been sent after it in the wake of a high-stakes heist that went bad. You, as the guild's newest recruit, have to set things right—because naturally, that's the sort of job that should be entrusted to the new guy, right?
